La mostra mercato di Bienno si svolge alla fine del mese di agosto ed attira nel suo borgo, uno dei più belli d'Italia, migliaia di persone per ammirare gli artisti che espongono le loro abilità nel realizzare oggetti, pitture e tutto quello che viene realizzato secondo canoni artigianali con l'ausilio della passione e delle proprie idee.
Bienno rappresenta anche il centro di una vecchia tradizione della lavorazione del ferro ovvero quella tramite l'ausilio dei magli.
Questi sono alimentati dai mulini che a loro volta ricevono la forza motrice dall'acqua che viene incanalata per dare moto alle enormi pale.
Ruolo centrale è quindi quello dell'acqua che muove i mulini creando un legame forte tra la prima industria e la vita contadina, quest'ultima portava al mulino i prodotti del suo raccolto dove il mugnaio li trasformava fornendo gli alimenti per la popolazione.
Dal canto suo le officine lavorando il ferro fornivano gli attrezzi per lavorare nei campi e per la lavorazione del legno utilizzato nell'edilizia.
Questa vita cadenzata appartenente al passato rivive con la mosta e con gli artisti che la animano i quali insegnano a godersi il tempo del fare le cose in una società oggi caratterizzata dalla frenesia e dalla velocità.
